Hibung lang ko kanang nganu man na kana bitaw word na kalo ug kawo kaparehas raman? Which is the right one? Or is there an explanation to this? Because it does not pertain to kalo ug kawo but also to words na naay "l + vowel" like tigulang ug tiguwang kahibalu ug kahibaw.
Does anyone know the explanation to this?
Hello! I am learning some Bisaya (and some Tagalog) and I have a question about the word "tagolilong"=invisible in English.
To me this word looks like a combination of "tago"=conceal;disguise;hide + "lilong"=conceal (meanings from Binisaya.com dictionary). This looks like a reduplication of meaning, not the usual reduplication of roots or syllables.
Hey everyone,
My family is from Leyte but I was born and grew up in the States. I am looking for someone who could help me practice my Bisaya. I understand about 40% of conversations in Bisaya, but I have no idea how to form complete sentences. If anyone is interested in making friends by speaking Bisaya, I would gladly welcome it.
My e-mail address is csm2109 (at) gmail.com -- please feel free to send me a note!
Looking forward to speaking with you.
Camille
Well I'm actually bisaya but I just have a question regarding these kinds of words that undergo the morphological process of deletion.
Like for example between katulogon and katulgon. These two are of the same meaning well ang meaing kay sleepy, but the one I'm confused with is why do we still need to delete 'o' in tulog that will result in katulgon even if katulogon is acceptable or correct already? Is it because of the formulation of the sentence on which these words will be used? Or is it just for making the word easier to pronounce?
These is the closest language I could find to translate this. I used the dictionary for each word and have a basic understanding but want to make sure it's accurate:
kusog ka mang hilabot bisag dili bahin nimo...hoy kuha ka og imohang life nga kaogalingon
Kinsa may imong ka away diha
Word for word I got:
powerful you man interfere approve no share/role your...hey earn/withdraw you and yours life ing self/itself
whoever thereis your you fight there/upon
any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
please translate these phrase....
- i'm busy
- have so much to do
- so tired
please include sample sentences.
thanks
